En un mano a mano con Brad Freeman (Beta Factory Racing), García se ha impuesto por tan solo ocho segundos tras casi una hora y 30 minutos de carrera cronometrada. Demostrando una vez más lo apretados que están los tres primeros en EnduroGP, Steve Holcombe (Beta) cerró el podio a 19 segundos de su compañero de equipo Freeman.

Max Ahlin (KTM) ha prolongado su magnífico estado de forma en el Super Test y se ha impuesto en la categoría Junior del Campeonato del Mundo de Enduro. Jane Daniels se ha proclamado vencedora del Campeonato del Mundo FIM de Enduro Femenino al imponerse en la primera jornada disputada en Skovde.

EnduroGP: García el más rápido

En el paddock del Campeonato del Mundo FIM de EnduroGP se respiraba un ambiente de emoción cuando los competidores salieron a la pista para disputar la primera jornada de la cuarta ronda en Skovde, Suecia. Se preveía un gran día en la oficina para todos, con 11 pruebas especiales de una hora y 30 minutos de carrera cronometrada para los primeros clasificados. El gran tema de conversación para los competidores al salir del ‘Parc Ferme’ fueron los enduro tests consecutivos. Con un Cross Pro Enduro Test de nueve minutos añadido al enduro test de nueve minutos, la jornada de hoy iba a favorecer a los que se sintieran más cómodos entre los árboles.

Nada más empezar, Brad Freeman (Beta Factory Racing) mantuvo vivo su liderato del Super Test al ganar el primer Extreme Test y luego fue el más rápido en el Enduro Test para abrir una ventaja de tres segundos sobre Josep García (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing), con Steve Holcombe (Beta) a nueve segundos en tercera posición. El dúo del CH Racing Sherco formado por Hamish MacDonald y Zach Pichon se ha quedado a cinco segundos de la cabeza.

Aunque Freeman se impuso en el primer Enduro Test, lo hizo por una minúscula diferencia de tres centésimas de segundo, lo que significa que no fue como el golpe mortal que había asestado la semana pasada en Finlandia. García se dio cuenta rápidamente y ganó el siguiente Enduro Cross Pro Test para reducir a la mitad la ventaja de Freeman. Y con los dos prácticamente empatados a tiempo en el Cross Test, la cosa se puso muy interesante en la segunda de las tres vueltas.

Durante el resto del día, los dos pilotos estuvieron mano a mano, y Holcombe se coló también en la victoria del Cross Pro Enduro Test. En el último Cross Pro Enduro Test fue Freeman quien se vino abajo. Una caída dio a García el respiro que necesitaba y, con el tiempo agotándose, la victoria se decantó del lado del español.

Freeman se vio obligado a reconocer su derrota y Holcombe fue tercero tras él. Aunque la batalla por la victoria acaparó la mayor parte de la atención, hubo poca diferencia entre el cuarto, el quinto y el sexto. Nathan Watson (RedMoto Honda) ha realizado su mejor carrera de la temporada y se ha impuesto en el último Cross Test. Andrea Verona (GASGAS Factory Racing) fue muy regular durante todo el día y se clasificó quinto, mientras que MacDonald fue sexto.

La categoría Enduro1 vio una nueva victoria de Josep Garica (KTM). Zach Pichon (Sherco) se ha impuesto a Theo Espinasse (Beta).
Steve Holcombe (Beta) parece tenerle tomada la medida a Enduro2 y volvió a ganar. Nathan Watson (Honda) se mantuvo delante de Andrea Verona (GASGAS) por el segundo puesto.
Brad Freeman (Beta) fue el mejor de la clase Enduro3 por séptima vez consecutiva. Morgan Lesiardo (Sherco) y Matteo Cavallo (TM Racing) completaron el podio.

Daniels encabeza el podio de Enduro Femenino

En el Campeonato del Mundo FIM de Enduro Femenino, Jane Daniels (Fantic) volvió a ganar. Después de que Rosie Rowett (Rieju) ganara el Super Test, Daniels no perdió el tiempo y restableció el orden con una racha de victorias en la primera vuelta. Ganó tres pruebas y se colocó en cabeza, sin desfallecer durante el resto de la jornada.

Rowett, por su parte, se ha hecho con la segunda plaza. Además de sus dos mejores tiempos en las pruebas especiales, también ganó el Cross Test. Jessica Gardiner (Yamaha) fue tercera. Linnes Akesson (Beta) terminó cuarta en casa, con Nieve Holmes (Sherco) completando los cinco primeros.

Victoria local de Max Ahlin en el Enduro Júnior

El Campeonato del Mundo FIM Júnior de Enduro ha deparado la batalla entre los suecos Max Ahlin (KTM) y Albin Norrbin (Fantic), acompañados por Jed Etchells (Fantic). Mientras que Ahlin disfrutó de una impresionante carrera en el Super Test, Norrbin no lo hizo. Terminó en 39ª posición y 23 segundos por detrás de Ahlin, por lo que pasó el día intentando volver a la lucha por la victoria.

Y eso es exactamente lo que hizo a mediodía, cuando marcó el mejor tiempo en cinco pruebas consecutivas. Sin embargo, Ahlin nunca estuvo demasiado lejos y, con esa diferencia reduciéndose gradualmente, Ahlin hizo todo lo correcto para ganar. A pesar de sus esfuerzos, Norrbin tendrá que volver a intentarlo mañana si quiere subir a lo más alto del podio en casa. En la última vuelta, Etchells superó las dos pruebas especiales y se colocó tercero en la general.

El debutante Jeremy Sydow se mostró mucho más confiado en el terreno escandinavo en esta carrera y ocupó una competitiva cuarta posición. Siempre un piloto más fuerte en el segundo día podría ser alguien a tener en cuenta por los líderes. Axel Semb (Husqvarna) fue quinto, con lo que tres suecos se colocaron entre los cinco primeros.

En Youth Enduro, Kevin Cristino (Fantic) sigue en cabeza. Sin embargo, el italiano apenas pudo cruzar la línea de meta. Thibault Giraudon (Sherco) ha vuelto a la senda del triunfo y ha terminado segundo a solo tres segundos. Leo Joyon (Beta) ha completado el podio.

Josep García (KTM): "Me he sentido bien encima de la moto todo el día, lo que era importante porque la lucha en cabeza está muy apretada. He tenido una caída, pero por suerte no ha sido demasiado grave. Ahora estoy disfrutando de la batalla, todo me va bien y estoy preparado para más mañana".

Brad Freeman (Beta): "Han sido buenos resultados en general, pero siento que se me escapó la victoria si soy sincero. Josep y yo estábamos luchando en cada especial y en el último Enduro Test perdí nueve segundos y eso fue todo".

Steve Holcombe (Beta): "Terminar de nuevo en el podio es brillante. Pero hoy no he podido alcanzar a Josep y Brad. Después de recorrer todas las especiales, no han sido como yo esperaba y creo que eso me ha pillado un poco desprevenido. Haré los deberes esta noche y veré si puedo recortar distancias mañana".
