La etapa final del Morocco Desert Challenge (MDC) fue un bucle de 98 km a través de las dunas de Erg Chebbi, con salida y llegada en el vivac de Merzouga. Tras recorrer más de 2.000 km en ocho días, el equipo Ténéré World Raid volvió a hacer historia al terminar el rally de forma soberbia, con Tarrés y Faggotter tercero y cuarto en la clasificación general y asegurándose los dos primeros puestos en la categoría Big Bike (600cc y superiores).

Para Tarrés, ha sido su primer podio en la general en tan sólo su tercer rally. El andorrano se aseguró de terminar la carrera a lo grande llevando su Teneré 700 World Raid a meta el último día en undécima posición, con un tiempo de una hora, 24 minutos y 43 segundos, con la certeza de que su ventaja sobre sus competidores no se puso en duda en ningún momento.

Su tiempo total de 23 horas, 41 minutos y nueve segundos demostró la habilidad de este piloto de 29 años y el potencial de la Teneré 700 World Raid, una moto de aventura bicilíndrica que no perdió el ritmo durante toda la carrera y que compitió codo con codo con los prototipos de 450cc. Tarrés subió al podio en cinco de las siete especiales, con la Etapa 6 cancelada, poniendo de relieve las mejoras realizadas por el piloto desde su debut en Rally Raid en el Desert Challenge de Túnez en 2022.

Su compañero de equipo Faggotter terminó la Etapa 8 en noveno lugar, ya que el australiano regresó a las carreras de rally por primera vez desde el Dakar 2020 después de establecer un tiempo de una hora, 23 minutos y cuarenta segundos. De este modo, el tres veces finalista del Dakar, que sustituyó al piloto titular Alessandro Botturi, que se vio obligado a perderse el MDC por un problema de agenda, se hizo con la cuarta posición de la clasificación general con un tiempo combinado de 24 horas, 14 minutos y 25 segundos.

El piloto de 47 años demostró una gran regularidad a lo largo de todo el rally, a pesar de la mala suerte sufrida en las etapas 4 y 5, en las que perdió tiempo, logrando tres podios y terminando a sólo 33 minutos y 26 segundos de su compañero de equipo.

Esto aseguró que el dúo se asegurara un doblete en la nueva clase MDC Big Bike, diseñada para motocicletas de más de 600cc, y en el proceso, escribió su nombre en los libros de historia. Después de una exhibición tan dominante, el equipo Ténéré World Raid vuelve a la acción en el Hellas Rally del 21 al 28 de mayo.

Pol Tarrés: "Siento que estoy soñando. No puedo creer que haya subido al podio en mi tercer rally. Es una sensación increíble. Aparte de un error de navegación en la 7ª etapa, he hecho un rally perfecto. Gracias al equipo, a mi mecánico y a la increíble Teneré 700 World Raid. Toda la carrera ha sido magnífica y no hemos tenido ningún problema. Que empiece la próxima aventura en el Hellas Rally".
