La esencia de lo que hace a una motocicleta mixta, como la Honda CRF 300 L, una auténtica máquina de doble propósito ha estado desde hace mucho tiempo en el ADN de Honda. A finales de los 70 se lanzó la XL250S – una moto que ofrecía auténtica capacidad on-road con un excelente rendimiento off-road. Toda la gama XL que siguió se convirtió en legendaria y demostró que combinando un económico motor monocilíndrico de cuatro tiempos, fácil de utilizar, con una parte ciclo efectiva se podía crear una motocicleta que fuese práctica, versátil y, tal como comprobaron motoristas de todo el mundo, enormemente divertida.

Hace más de una década, en Honda R&D se discutió exhaustivamente sobre la creación de una nueva máquina de uso mixto. La larga historia de la compañía – en competición off-road y en maquinaria trail – fue decisiva cuando comenzó el desarrollo de la moto.

Lo primero fue analizar las necesidades de los clientes. Mientras algunos motoristas insisten en un rendimiento off-road a nivel de competición, muchos otros valoran la facilidad de uso, la funcionalidad y los aspectos prácticos. Para uso diario en entornos urbanos buscan una moto práctica y resistente con un estilo off-road de vanguardia. Pero, cuando llega el fin de semana, necesitan una buena herramienta para salir, tanto por carretera como por el campo.

La nueva moto mixta de Honda siempre ha sido contemplada por su equipo de desarrollo desde un punto de vista global. No solo necesitaba un motor potente y frugal, su parte ciclo también debía tener amplias capacidades. Y tenía que ser asequible, ofrecer alta calidad y una excelente relación calidad/precio, con bajos costes de utilización como una prioridad.

La CRF250L, lanzada en Europa en 2012, fue precisamente esa motocicleta. Y los ingenieros de Honda encontraron la fórmula apropiada. La CRF250L ha demostrado ser una excelente máquina que, así como su versión Rally, disfruta de un éxito consistente de ventas en todo el mundo.

Pero el tiempo pasa, y ahora la nueva CRF300L toma el relevo para 2021 – más ligera, más potente y con una serie de mejoras de detalle. Ofrece todo lo que la motocicleta mixta CRF250L ofrecía, solo que ahora, aún más.
