Junto con la Honda CRF 1100 L Africa Twin, también se comercializa esta versión Adventure Sports, más orientada hacia la aventura y a los viajes más extremos. El depósito del combustible crece hasta los 25 litros de capacidad, la pantalla delantera es más alta, cuenta con un juego de maletas de aluminio, protecciones laterales, luces adaptativas en curva y faros antiniebla de serie, entre otros accesorios. La nueva Africa Twin 2020 tiene un motor más grande, que llega hasta los 100 cv de potencia y algo más de par que la versión anterior. La electrónica de su motor incorpora una unidad de medición inercial de seis ejes capaz de controlar la moto en aceleración, inclinación y frenada. Este sistema electrónico interactúa con los modos de conducción y el control de tracción, además de con el ABS que ahora es capaz de intervenir en curva. La Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sports tiene suspensiones electrónicas firmadas por Showa.
